Teaching Dog To Walk Between Your Legs

Practice your dog training skills by teaching your dog to walk between your legs. It is a fun, novel skill to work on. I call it ‘Peek-a-Boo’ .

how to practice your dog training skills by teaching your dog to walk between your legsIn the video, I show steps I went through to train my maltipoo dog, Dawson, to do it. In addition to walking forward and backward, you can practice moving right and left. This is another behavior that your kids can learn how to teach your dog.

While I did not use a clicker (I used a verbal marker), you can definitely use clicker training to teach this.

Keep in mind that there are some dogs that are very uncomfortable being between your legs. If that is the case, you will need to spend a lot of time just desensitizing your dog to that…or teach another fun behavior.

Need help? I’d love to help!
