I am sure I don’t need to tell you; parenting is such an incredible gift of love. With its challenges comes many more moments of happiness and laughter. I am not only talking about parenting little humans. If you are here, your first child has been your family dog.
Now you are parents expecting a baby…or you are parents with a toddler becoming more mobile. Are you thinking about how your dog is going to respond or how to introduce your dog to your baby safely? Has your crawling baby made your dog uncomfortable – or has your dog made your toddler uncomfortable? Would you like to learn how to help your dog and baby get along? How to minimize your own stress so that you can enjoy many more experiences together?
Supporting growing families with dogs, like yours, is something I find very fulfilling. I would very much like to help.
As a licensed Family Paws Parent Educator, I am specially trained to help families that include babies and toddlers (and kids) and dogs to live safely and harmoniously together. This includes so much more than dog training. We talk about what it means to be Dog Aware®, management, the importance of getting needs met, skills to train your dog and for you to learn, safe ways to include your dog and your baby or toddler, planning for your baby’s homecoming, and much more.
By beginning to prepare now, you will be more confident and less stressed. Let’s do this!
Have a child or children over the age of 6? Please visit my Kids And Dogs Page to learn more about my dog training for kids and my kids education classes about dogs.
Among what we will cover:
1. Your dog’s body language and potential stressors.
2. The potential impact of the changing environment on your dog.
3. How to create management and safety strategies.
4. How to help your dog get your dog’s enrichment needs met.
5. Useful and important dog training for your new lifestyle.
6. Planning for your baby’s homecoming.
Is your child interested in learning how to train your dog? I’d love to help. I offer private dog training lessons for kids to teach them how to understand dog language, how to create dog enrichment, and how to train their dog.
These are offered in-person (if you are within my Cincinnati area) or virtually. You can live anywhere in the United States to register your child for dog training lessons! (Best for kids age 6 and older)
