Dog Training For Kids
Yes, I teach dog training for kids too! Growing up, my best friend as a child was our family dog and I know how very special that relationship can be. So often I see kids who love their dog but their actions cause their dog to create distance from them or become excessively jumpy and bitey, which can even be dangerous. Young children don’t often know how to understand their dog’s communication and needs, and how to interact appropriately. Teaching them how to be the friend their dog wants them to be and even how to teach their dog fun behaviors is so important to me.
That is what students learn in my classes while parents also get pointers for helping the relationship between their child and dog be a good one.
My Dog, My Best Buddy
This online dog training class is just for kids ages 6 and older (and their dog)!
My Dog, My Best Buddy classes, teaches young kids and teens how to train their dog, and also how to be someone their dog will want to listen to (and how they can be a good listener to their dog’s communication). They will learn how dogs communicate, how to be a positive teacher, and how to play dog games with food.

Prefer private dog training lessons for your child?
I can come to your home or work with your child and you virtually! It is a lot of fun. If your family includes kids, we can also include them in the overall training. The first step is to reach out to me.

Our students are ages 3 to 6. Often, young children do not know how to interact appropriately with dogs and how to understand
what dogs are trying to tell them. Not only can that cause dogs to be uncomfortable around them (and them to be uncomfortable
around dogs), it can also cause a very real bite risk. Lisa teaches that important information to kids at their learning level. She has
an easy-going, fun and positive approach that puts our students at ease, encourages interactions and keeps their focus. When she
asked at the end what everyone learned, it was really great to see our students share what they retained. Not only will that help
to make it safer for them around their dog, it will also help to strengthen their relationship with their dog. I would highly recommend
Lisa for presentations at such places as scout meetings, child care centers, summer camp programs. library story hours; and for families.
