Home Dog Enrichment Ideas For Your Dog

During this COVID-19 social distancing time, as you are spending much more than usual time at home with your dog, I will be sharing ideas for helping to enrich your pet’s day…and add some fun to yours too. Here are a few ways you can feed your dog and add more enrichment than simply feeding from a bowl. If you have kids and a dog, your kids can do these too! I will be sharing these  on my Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts and will post some of them on my blog too.

If you enjoy these, please consider sharing from here or one of my social media accounts…and use the hashtag #seeGOODbuildPETential.

Be safe everyone!

Dog Maze Food Game

Dog Enrichment Game - indoor food mazeThis is a food activity game that kids in your family can play with you and our dog. First, have your dog in a stationary position/stay or tethered or out of the room. Then create a trail of food that goes in and around your furniture, and release your dog to find it. You can make this more challenging by then creating food stations in a trail where your dog has to do something to get the food. I’ll be posting a video of this next. I’d love to hear if you try it!

Tennis Balls Make Meal Time Fun

Dog Enrichment Game: the tennis balls-muffin tin game

Do you have tennis balls? How about a muffin tin? The dog muffin tin game is a fun way to feed your dog that engages his/her sense of smell. Don’t have a cupcake tin? Try filling a box with tennis balls and hiding food underneath. I’d love to hear how your dog likes this. If you share, please use hashtag #seeGOODbuildPETential.
