How I Strive To Be A Good Leader

“TO BE A GOOD LEADER, BE AN INSPIRER. My idea of a good leader is someone who shows empathy for others, someone who works to empower and inspire others to want to do more, be more. A good leader is fair and clear, and asks the question:
How can I help others succeed? I strive to be that kind of leader to people and non-human animals.”~ Lisa Desatnik

a quote about leadership by Lisa DesatnikWhat are some ways that I do that?

By listening not only with my ears but with my eyes as well. This includes watching body language and making adjustments to my own behaviors or the environment as needed to minimize stress and conflict, and build confidence.

By teaching with choice as much as possible, and making the choice that I’d like for my learner to make – the easiest and most valued choice for him/her.

By setting up the environment to make focusing on the lesson easier and learning more successful.

By making the lesson as easy as possible for the learner to stay motivated and grasp what I am teaching, but not easier.

By incorporating reinforcers that the learner values.
